May include t-shirts, stickers, promo CDs, posters, etc. Often free, but not necessarily; a t-shirt or record purchased at a concert might still be considered swag, especially if it is a design or release that is not readily available in the mass market.

Many independent record labels throw in a handful of free swag when they ship out mail-order packages (stickers, sampler CDs, etc).

The chief difference between swag and regular merchandise is that its purpose is not to make a profit, but to promote the band/label, and reward its supporters by giving them something cool and unique.

It’s been a long time since the last post. A lot has happened around here (new theme, some new sites, etc). We’ve consolidated our network, meaning that we sold some sites and added a few new ones. This post is just a quick hello…and nope…the ingoalnetwork isn’t dead, far from it, it’s very much alive and kickin!

The old ones were not quite uptodate anymore, so we had to make the move…new servers are up and running, some sites are still down, especially the image-hosting sites (imageuploads, storemypix and picturejoint) as there seems to be a problem with the scripts on the new server…until we figured out what went wrong, they will remain down.

The other sites are up and running and should be brought to you in high-speed at all times, enjoy

So…long time no update, let’s change that.

Nothing spectacular to report, some of the network sites where moved to a new network, the browsetastic network, which is now hosting all the proxy related websites. Apart from that, some of the existing sites were updated…no new additions though.

…title says it all: Mostly up and running again. After some minor quirks during the restore process, we’re (almost) back to normal. Some sites may still be blank, but the majority of sites is back in good shape…some even with a new design:

1. proxytastic.com - now running strictly on cgiproxy. We kicked the PHProxy part as it didn’t work properly with sites requiring logins (e.g. MySpace) anyway.
2. proxytastic.net - the new sister-site of proxytastic.com
3. proxytastic.org - the new sister-site of proxytastic.com
4. proxytastic.info - the new sister-site of proxytastic.com

Due to severe spam- and exploit attacks we needed to upgrade the sever earlier today. We’re in the progress of restoring the backups, so if you encounter a site which is still down, don’t worry, it’ll be up soon enough.

If you encountered a site timeout earlier on, I can put you at ease: it was no real outage. Our admin team just upgraded the server backend a little bit, so nothing to worry about

FYI: We had a mail-server outage on friday which last for a period of nearly 12 hours. Due to a faulty antivirus system all mails were rejected. If you sent us (an) email(s) and receive a reply that the email address had permanent errors, please resend your email(s). Thank you.

FYI: TheCGIProxy.com has been sold…as agreed upon in the sale the links to it will stay up for the month of April, then they and the site are gone…
